What does that mean, creating our own experience of safety in the world, especially in the unheard-of context of coming out of lockdown?
We know about taking action for our physical safety, for example making sure we look both ways before we cross a road. There are also many ways to create safety in less tangible ways for ourselves that supports us not to sink into a stressful state; instead, to bring ourselves back to our calm inner centre. It's taken me a long time to realise I can make a big difference in how resilient and grounded I can be, partly in the physical realm like with Coronavirus, but also in regard to the stress, anxiety and insecurity that is so widespread, if hidden, in deeper aspects of our lives.
Very soon we're going to be heading back out into the world (I know, though, some of you never stopped!), and the need to actively build inner and outer safety for ourselves becomes even more relevant as changes comes towards us. This workshop will focus on building a sense of inner safety that will support your outer safety - from stress and anxiety to inner confidence, openness, and trust in yourself.
'Creating Your Experience of Safety in the World' will support you:
to learn how you can manage your nervous system to give you a sense of safety, whether your tendency is to withdraw from the world or to become hypervigilant and on alert for problems (both can be exhausting and self-defeating)
to learn and practice practical somatic tools (it is NOT yoga) to help you stay grounded when stress or anxiety strikes that you can apply immediately, any time, anywhere
to explore integrating your stress, anxiety and other emotions so they are not in control - you are!
This workshop will include:
conversation possibilities where you're welcome to share your experiences and insights or not - no pressure
time to reflect, to write if you wish, to move around if you need to move
guided meditation
exercises to help support your nervous system when you're feeling challenged
breaks as needed
humour!
Who am I, your Facilitator for this workshop? I've been a Yoga Teacher for a long time now, teaching hundreds of students stress-releasing, anxiety-reducing measures over the years. As a Transformational Coach and Facilitator, I support with great pleasure individuals and groups to discover inner (and outer) resources they never knew they had. My greatest learning and enquiry has been discovering how these tools that you'll learn about during the workshop have helped me and so many others to gain a deeper ground, sense of self, wholeness, and lightness, too. If you've never been to one of my sessions before, great - welcome! And if you have been before, also great. This is new content, relevant for everyone.
There will also be the possibility of further support after the workshop, with coaching, power circles, or a combination of the two.
For more information you can contact me, or ring me and leave a message, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible!
