I am so glad I have not lost our weekly yoga sessions as it has been something out of my ‘normal’ life to continue with and the community feel when we all link up is a positive feeling as we know a lot of the group – familiarity gives comfort…. my sister, Jen, had a really good session this week as her cat, Tigger, sat on the end of her yoga mat the whole session and watched you online! Online community gatherings are sometimes difficult but it is good to feel part of something and feel like you are in the room...that’s how I feel with our yoga sessions so you are doing something right! I’m working from home which is taking some adjustment as I’m used to having a lot of people around me and I’m feeling quite cut off from the world. I’m so glad to have your class as it’s a bit of normality and makes me focus on myself and this week Tigger also took a liking to my yoga mat - he was fast asleep on it by the end of savasana! Yoga has changed my mind....! Recently, while travelling to one of Maria’s yoga classes I became aware that I was getting into ‘yoga mode’. I found a sense of calm and purpose descending upon me as I drove to the class without even trying. I’ve been doing yoga for a while now and it’s been acting like a drip feed into my consciousness, although I was unaware of it until recently and I believe it’s changing my mindset, not just during the class, where I must admit my focus is becoming stronger, but outside of it as well. I am more measured in my approach to life’s challenges, stresses and dilemmas. I have a more accepting attitude about the things life can and does throw at me and this in itself is having a positive effect. In much the same way, I am more accepting of my physical faults as part of me and not something to be beaten into submission. I’m no longer punishing my body, trying to change it into something it will never be. I understand now that the mind and body are connected and that forging those connections between what I think and what I feel physically actually does work. Sandra
I have creaks and stiffness in all the wrong places. A class with Maria loosens me up and I can move like a younger man again - for a while. I especially need help with my neck, shoulders and back. I highly recommend her class. Paul

I really enjoyed the relaxation session this morning. In some ways, I found it difficult to put my mind to thinking in that way, as the morning is normally when my head is busy with thoughts of what is to come. That being said, I think that focused time like that is really important at the beginning of the day, and I felt much better for it. I thought the format was good and I always find your words relaxing, so thank you! Sara
Just to let you know that the Wednesday morning session was super lovely, I had the best day at work that I've had for ages. I had been struggling a bit and it seemed to put me in touch with a part of myself that can be wise and calm and intuitive and less stressy and in my head. Becky
Strength-Building yoga: The power yoga session is exactly what I wanted. My upper body is very weak and so I am keen to build up some strength. The first session was much harder than I can actually do right now but this gives me something to practice so that I can see improvement in the future. Karen

Gentle yoga class: I wanted to let you know how very much I enjoyed yoga this morning, and to thank you. I have noticed that even now I am breathing deep down in my stomach instead of doing anxious, clavicular (shallow) breathing, as is my habit, and it is a great relief. My body also feels as if something has been loosened and released, as if some sort of balance is beginning to be regained, for which I thank you wholeheartedly. Thank you so much! Ann, 42
Individual session: Maria – you were wonderfully affirming and I felt comfortable and relaxed. You demonstrated with ease and joy the benefits of yoga – it is clear you love it/can do it/and it works! This gave me confidence and inspiration as it was evident without you needing to tell me as I saw it. Helping me getting into a posture by moving me a little, or a firm hand to demonstrate strength/poise was very good. I have a lot of unconscious un-penetrated aspects of my body, it was good to be reminded of my knees, my back etc. I had an overall feeling of openness and rejuvenation that lasted well into the next day. I had no aches or strains – just a general feeling of movement in my body. I slept well and long, and awoke with very good energy and a clear head – (rare!). As I write this two days later my energy levels are much improved! Jane, 30s
